Barbra Rodgers retired in June from the KPIX CBS 5 anchor desk. During her 29 years at the San Francisco station, Rodgers won many broadcast journalism awards, including an EMMY for a series of reports on crime-ridden public housing, and a RTNDA/UNITY award for a series on American Muslims.
Also receiving the award will be Bob Mackenzie of KTVU Channel 2 in Oakland, Dave Walker and Lois Hart of KCRA 3 in Sacramento a Husband and wife team that will be retiring their nightly anchor desk later this year.
“ Each of these individuals is an outstanding example of broadcast journalism at its best.  They have given so much of themselves to their audiences and to their communities.  We honor them for their work, for setting standards of excellence, and for being role models,” says NorCal RTNDA President Janice S. Gin.
The Lifetime Achievement Awards will be presented at NorCal RTNDA’s annual Awards Dinner at 6PM, Saturday, November 15, 2008 at the Kabuki Hotel 1625 Post Street in San Francisco.
