Evergreen Hosts President Martin, Jeremiah Wright Speaks at ABSW

Dr. Paul M. Martin, President of the American Baptist Seminary of the West (ABSW),  in Berkeley, will preach the morning service at the Evergreen Baptist Church of Oakland Sunday, November 6, Bishop Frank Pinkard is the pastor.   
Dr. Paul M. Martin was elected President of (ABSW) on July 1, 2009.
The ABSW is conducting a conference this week titled “Leaders Reaching across Barriers of Faith, Class and Culture”, October 24-26 at 2606 Dwight Way, Berkeley.
The Rev. Dr. Jeremiah Alvesta Wright, Jr., Pastor Emeritus of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, Illinois and former pastor to President Barack and First Lady Michelle Obama will be the featured speaker at ABSW.
Dr. Martin had a distinguished career as Senior Pastor of the Macedonia Baptist Church of Denver, Colorado from August 1990 to March 2007 when retired. He then served as the Interim Pastor of the Zion Hill Baptist Church until June, 2009. He has served on the faculty of colleges and seminaries as adjunct professor. He served as a Trustee of the American Baptist Seminary of the West for several terms. Dr. Martin is married to Dr. Agnes Lott Martin and they together form a powerful team for the Lord’s ministry.
He is a graduate of Pepperdine University, Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology and the California Graduate School of Theology. He has done further studies at Claremont School of Theology, Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, Virginia and Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia.
